Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

In addition to hosting world-class entertainment, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts offers classes in various arts, and fall classes are now on sale.

Exciting classes for all ages and skill levels are available at the AdventHealth School of the Arts in Musical Theater, Acting, Voice, Dance, Instrumental, Wellness and options for Homeschoolers.

The format this year has changed to a compact schedule of eight weeks, along with focused arts classes like Selecting & Selling Your Song, Broadway Cabaret, Comedy Club & Improv, Tapping through the Golden Years and Partner Swing Dancing.

Wellness classes include options for Seniors and caregivers to increase bonding and self-care with opportunities for movement, relationship and role-playing. Inclusion classes use drama techniques for students to develop social skills and verbal communication.

Also new this year, two full-scale youth productions performed in the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater. Students taking one or more classes are eligible to add on the production with opportunities for students to participate in the cast or the design team.

Auditions for the first production take place October 18 from 5- 9pm.
