The annual Party for the Planet returns to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Saturday April 20 through Monday April 22 to celebrate Earth Day 2019.
In addition to the regular offerings of the park, there will be special animal encounters, photo ops, and merchandise themed for the weekend.
Animal encounters and educational excitement
Guests entering the park can’t miss the larger-than-life statue of reclaimed marine debris sculpted into an Adélie penguin to celebrate Disneynature’s “Penguins,” in theaters this week.
Special ambassador animals and the keepers who train them will be on hand for unique encounters as well.
Memorable photo props and rare character opportunities
Guests can say “cheese” inside themed photo props and critter masks at several spots on Discovery Island.
Special character friends, including Jiminy Cricket, Thumper, and Miss Bunny, have also been invited to pose and play with visitors!
Earth-conscious and Limited Lion King Merchandise
Visitors can treat themselves while treating the environment when they stop by Discovery Island to check out specialty merchandise items made from natural or recycled materials.
There will also be limited edition Lion King merchandise available in the park.
Finally, guests can purchase a lion-themed print by Imagineer Joe Rohde who will be signing a limited number of them in Mombasa Marketplace.
Eco-eats, sweets and events
The popular Tiffins Talks hosted by the world-famous Imagineer Joe Rohde return for another year. Enjoy a feast and hear from the man himself about his adventures, designing Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and more in this event.
Join Joe for a unique conversation as he regales you with stories from his travels through a delectable 4-course lunch featuring global dishes, desserts and specialty beverages. Space is limited. Pricing for this dining package is $199 plus tax and gratuity, in addition to park admission. Reservations can be made by calling 407 WDW-DINE (407 939-3463).
Exclusive Party for the Planet-themed cupcakes will also be available at Restaurantosaurus.
