SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium Celebrates Shark Month through July 29

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium - sharks

This summer, through July 29, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is hosting a totally “jawsome” celebration of one of the ocean’s most feared and revered creatures: sharks.

There are more than 500 species of sharks in the world and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is home to a handful of them—including the Grey Reef Shark, Nurse Shark, Blacktip Reef Shark and most recently, a group of several baby Coral Catsharks.

Every day, SEA LIFE’s trained divers swim alongside these sharks in the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean habitats. However, during the month of July, they’ll be bringing an underwater camera along with them to try and capture selfies with the sharks and the guests from beyond the other side of the glass.

The dives start at 11:30am and recur hourly until the final dive at 5:30pm.

In addition to the #Sharkfies, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium will also be offering Shark-focused Dive Talks and Toddler Times during Shark Month.

Every Tuesday, SEA LIFE opens early at 9:30am to host Toddler Time—a special, half-hour interactive and educational program for its youngest explorers. Held in front of the aquarium’s Indian Ocean Habitat, Toddler Time features a fun story and hands-on activity, and admission is free to all toddlers aged 2 years old or younger.

Young guests who complete a shark scavenger hunt will be entered for a chance to win a shark plush from the gift shop.

Florida residents can enjoy discounted admission and savings of $5 per person or more if they purchase tickets online, at least 24 hours in advance.
