Bulla Gastrobar, Central Florida’s newest Spanish family-style restaurant, officially opened its doors on September 28 at Lakeside Crossing in Winter Park.
The menu features dishes such as Huevos ‘Bulla’ (eggs, homemade potato chips, Serrano ham, potato foam, and truffle oil; pictured above), Croquetas de Jamon (Iberian ham croquettes served with fig jelly), and Pargo Al Horno (Florida red snapper, panadera-style potatoes, refrito sauce).

Axum Market Café has opened at the Dr. P. Phillips YMCA, as part of it $9.5 million renovation and transformation project.
Operated by the Winter Garden-based Axum Coffee, the café is offering farm-to-table meals, fresh-pressed juices, and healthy snacks as part of the Y’s larger focus on improving healthy living. You don’t have to be a member to eat here.

Trevi Pasta in College Park is expanding into Ivanhoe Village with the opening of Trevi Pasta Express. It’s located in the building that formerly housed This N’That Eats, which recently closed.

Also in Ivanhoe Village, GBs Bottle Shop and Tasting Bar has opened on Virginia Drive. Owned by the folks behind Gnarley Barley (hence the GB in the name), they are kicking off the venue’s first Saturday tonight, Oct 8, with a Florida Beer Tap Takeover.

Gideon’s Bakehouse, designed straight out of the Victorian era, is holding its Grand ReOpening Celebration at East End Market today, Oct 8. Baked goods to enjoy include the Frankenstein Cookie, and the Peanut Butter Apple Pie.

Apothic White—the white wine with darker motives—will reprise its coveted role as the official US wine partner for the 2016 season of Le Dîner en Blanc events, the world’s largest global pop-up dinner parties.

The 2016 Latin Food & Wine Festival takes place at Seneff Arts Plaza at Dr Phillips Center on Sunday, Oct 16. ORL Food Lab is hosting its first ORL Food Dinner with North Quarter Tavern & Swamp Head Brewery on Monday, Oct 17. The evening will feature a four-course dinner presented by Chef Matt Wall, and take place at North Quarter Tavern in Orlando. Cost is $55 per person and tickets may be purchased online at Eventbrite.

Midwestern-based Culver’s is expanding in Central Florida with three more locations to get your butter burger and frozen custard fix: Winter Garden at 13649 W. Colonial Dr, and two in Kissimmee – 9070 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy (west of Disney), and 3148 N. Orange Blossom Trail (next to The Loop). The first area location opened in 2015 in Clermont.

Spoleto Italian Kitchen plans to open a location at The Grove shopping center in Windermere at the end of October. Other Central Florida locations of the fast-casual brand include UCF, Florida Mall, and Winter Park.

Paco’s Mexican Restaurant in Winter Park is closing its doors after almost 35 years in business, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page. The last day of operation will be Saturday, Oct 15.
