Orlando Dining Round-Up May 21, 2016: Shake Shack, Disney Dining, 33 & Melt

Shake Shack Bacon CheddarShack Burger and Blueberry Pie Oh My.

Shake Shack is adding two new items to its menu starting June 3. The first is the Bacon CheddarShack Burger. a all natural Angus beef hamburger topped with smoked Niman Ranch bacon and Wisconsin aged cheddar cheese sauce. A single will price at $6.89 and a double will be $9.69.

The second is the Blueberry Pie Oh My, featuring vanilla frozen custard blended with a slice of Shack-made blueberry pie topped with whipped cream. It’s available through July 4th as a concrete ($4.95 single; $6.79 double) and a shake ($5.79).

These items will be available at both the Winter Park and I-Drive 360 locations.

Starting May 21, Trail’s End restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness resort will begin offering a weekend brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 7:30am until 2:00pm. This brunch will feature the usual Trail’s End breakfast buffet plus at 11am, items such as salads and shrimp will be added. The price for this new brunch buffet is $23 for adults, and $13 for children 3-9. Visit disneyworld.com for reservations.

33 & Melt in Windermere will host a 1 year Anniversary Celebration on June 10. From 6-9pm, there will be live music on the patio, and food and drink specials all night. Visit the event’s Facebook page for more information.

ORL Food is hosting a Mills 50 Food Crawl on May 26, with food discounts for participants. Start at Black Rooster Taqueria at 5:30pm, then move on to Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa at 7pm, finishing up at Ten 10 Brewing Company at 8:30pm. It’s free to attend; just pay for what you order. Plancha at Four Seasons Resort Orlando is hosting a Casa Dragones Tequila Pairing Dinner on May 28. Four Seasons Resort Orlando Sous Chef Samuel Faggetti joins forces with acclaimed Mexican Chef Lula Martin del Campo, and Casa Dragones Tequila for a gourmet tequila pairing dinner. Krispy Kreme introduces two summertime flavors of doughnuts: Cherry Pie and Strawberry Shortcake

Krispy Kreme introduces two summertime flavors of doughnuts: Cherry Pie which features a classic Krispy Kreme shell filled with sweet cherry filling and topped with pie pieces, a dollop of cherry filling and an icing drizzle; and Strawberry Shortcake, a doughnut filled with an indulgent strawberry shortcake filling and finished with a strawberry drizzle, white Kreme topping and pie pieces..

There are also new flavors of Jolly Rancher Chillers in watermelon and blue raspberry. All are limited flavors available at all Central Florida locations through July 10, 2016. Visit krispykreme.com for more information.

Portobello at Disney Springs will host an Authentic Italian Cooking Class with Chef Tony Mantuano on June 11. This cooking class is $50 per person plus tax and gratuity and offers five courses paired with Italian wines. Reservations should be made by calling 407.828.8996. Italio Modern Italian Kitchen has closed in Winter Park. A sign on the door of the restaurant reads “This store is closed until further notice. New concept coming soon.” No word on what that new concept will be. The restaurant’s website and Facebook page are also gone. The building is adjacent to the new Lakeside Crossing retail and restaurant development now under construction on Orange Ave.
