Out and About: Peter Alden Kingdom Classics CD Launch Party

Central Florida musician Peter Alden held a release party on April 11 for his new CD, Kingdom Classics, and I was invited to enjoy the evening with his many friends and fans.

The event took place at Gardell Brothers Pizza in Hunters Creek, and the place was packed. I don’t think there was an empty place to sit anywhere.

The evening started with oldies music host Lee Douglas introducing special guest Joey Rand, who took over the lead of Haley’s Comets after Bill Haley died. He sang a few songs including “Rock Around the Clock.”

After a few promo announcements for Alden’s 2017 cruise, Douglas returned to the mic to bring in the man of the evening, Mr. Peter Alden.

Alden performed several songs off of Kingdom Classics, which features classic Disney songs that are favorites of the singer. My favorites that were sung that night were “Cruella De Ville,” “Rock Around the Mouse,” and “I Just Can’t Wait to be King.”

He also performed a few Elvis classics, which are a part of his normal repertoire, and they really got the ladies in the crowd up and dancing.

Alden has a nice strong baritone which works well with the classics of yesteryear, as well as the classic Disney tunes. It was a enjoyable show to watch.
