Morimoto Asia Wins Design Award for Architecture

If you’ve ever dined at Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs, chances are you’ve been as impressed with the design of the building and interior as you have with the food.

So has the American Institute of Architects Orlando, who bestowed their “Design Built Award of Merit” for the design of the building Morimoto Asia resides in.

For those who remember the Pleasure Island days, the building was formerly Mannequins, a two-story dance club with a revolving dancefloor on the lower level. To go from that to what it is now, I’m just amazed. Morimoto Asia is refined and elegant, using Asian design elements to create a visual masterpiece.

Morimoto Asia is part of the Patina Restaurant Group, and was designed by Studio V Architecture. In response to the award, Jay Valgora, Founder and Principal, at Studio V Architecture said:

“We are honored to receive the Design Built Award of Merit from the AIA and would like to extend our thanks to the entire project team for making our designs a reality and creating the amazing spaces in Morimoto Asia which inspire and excite through different sensory experiences.”

I feel it’s a well deserved honor. What do you think of Morimoto Asia’s design?
