BREAKING NEWS: Orlando’s Moonstone Music Festival Has Been Postponed

I just got word today that the Moonstone Music Festival, scheduled for April 30-May 1 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando, has been postponed. I’m told the reason is due to a major incident of cyber fraud.

The rescheduled dates are September 24 and 25, 2016, and while they will try to keep the current line-up, including headliners KISS and Def Leppard, changes may be necessary due to band schedules.

I’m told this ongoing case of cyber fraud involves a major Tampa bank and other local businesses, and is currently being investigated by local law enforcement and the FBI. As such, the festival can’t happen until everything is straightened out.

“At this time, we need to focus our efforts on this investigation,” says Paul Lovett, MOONSTONE founder. “Because of this situation, we know our attention to the inaugural Moonstone might suffer and we want to ensure an amazing experience for everyone who attends the festival in September.”

I’m told tickets purchased for the original dates will be honored (with upgrades for all purchasers, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks), with refunds available for those unable to attend the rescheduled dates.

It’s always a hard thing as a fan to have to deal with rescheduled concert events, but I commend the promoters for being up front and working quickly to fix the situation.

I’m in touch with the Moonstone promoters and their PR, so as soon as I hear anything more, I will let you know. In the meantime, you can follow them on social media – Facebook and Twitter – or visit
