Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF presents The Tempest

Magic, romance, and revenge set the stage for Shakespeare’s late masterpiece, The Tempest, which begins with Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, stranded on a remote and mystical island with his daughter Miranda.

Seeking revenge against those who conspired against him, Prospero conjures a powerful storm to shipwreck them and settle the score once and for all. Just as retribution is finally within reach, Miranda falls in love with Ferdinand, son of one of his conspirators, putting her relationship with her father to the ultimate test.

The Tempest will star Greg Thornton as Prospero, Gracie Winchester as Miranda, and Lisa Wolpe as the treacherous Antonia. Additional casting includes Stephen Lima as Sebastian, Joe Vincent as Gonzalo, Richard Watson as Caliban, Paul Bernardo as Alonso, Brad DePlanche as Trinculo, and Dameka Hayes as Ariel.

Director Anne Hering is joined by the Orlando Shakes artistic team of composer Daniel Levy, set designer Kat Conley, Lighting Designer Bert Scott, Costume Designer Denise Warner, and Sound Designer Britt Sandusky.
