Orlando Brewing will tap the Mo'mo-Browne Ale Jan 9, 2016

Orlando Brewing will tap the Mo’mo-Browne Ale on January 9. It is a big, hoppy brown crafted to as a tribute to local duo, Mo’mo-Browne. Mariah Lynn & Ben Browne discovered a mutual love for blues & beer after meeting at Orlando Brewing in 2012. The pair has been crafting music together since.

The tapping will happen at 1pm, with the duo performing from 3-6pm, to be followed by a free brewery tour. The event is free to attend. Visit orlandobrewing.com for more information.

Edible Orlando hosts Field to Feast Dinner featuring Walt Disney World Chefs on February 20 at Long & Scott Farms in Mt Dora.

The event will feature locally sourced dishes from the likes of Chef Scott Hunnel, Victoria & Albert’s; Chef Brian Piasecki, California Grill; Chef Tim Keating, Flying Fish Café; Chef Michael Gonsalves, Artist Point; Chef Craig Schleider, The Hollywood Brown Derby; Chef Russell Palmer, The Wave … of American Flavors; Chef Gregg Hannon, EPCOT® International Flower & Garden Festival; Chef Leonard Thomson, Park Event Operations and Premium Events; and Chef Jeff Barnes, Disney’s Contemporary Bakery.

Capa at Four Season’s Orlando will be hosting a guest chef dinner on January 16, with Chef Phillip Foss. Foss, chef & owner of El Ideas, a Michelin Star Chicago restaurant, is known for his avant-garde preparations and techniques. Diners who attend will enjoy a pre-fixe wine pairing dinner as he cooks alongside Capa Chef Tim Dacey. Call 407-313-6161 for reservations.

Walt Disney World has a new offering for those with a sweet tooth. The Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party (whew! That’s a mouthful!) happens from 6:30-8pm each Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with special viewing for the “Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular” fireworks at 7:45 p.m. each night.

On the menu, look for lots of Star Wars-themed desserts treats, including the popular Yoda and Darth Vader cupcakes and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Plus you’ll get a souvenir Chewbacca stein to take home

Master Sommelier George Millotes is leaving Darden Restaurants to open a wine bar at Disney Springs, tentatively named Wine Bar George. Plans are to have it in The Landing section, though the lease hasn’t been signed yet.

STK Restaurant has pushed back its opening at Disney Springs to next year. It was supposed to open late 2015, but the building is still under construction.

When open it will be located at the top of the hill in The Landing, on the space that once held the Comedy Warehouse. It will feature two floors of seating, including an outdoor patio, and will be open for lunch and dinner. We’ll let you know as soon as we have a definitive opening date.

Smith & Adams Confections has opened in Colonial Plaza, featuring house-made confections and gelato. The store is run by a former Disney pastry chef, Kelly Smith, and her lawyer partner, Kim Adams. The grand opening will happen sometime later this month.
