Out and About: Sugar Factory Orlando Previews Its Menu

I recently got a chance to attend a media preview of the Sugar Factory Orlando menu, and the items we got to try were good.

Sugar Factory Orlando

Even though most people think of drinks and sweets when they think of the Sugar Factory, they actually have quite a few savory items worth ordering.

Of what we got to sample, I’d have to give two thumbs up to the Fried Mac & Cheese, featuring balls of mac & cheese battered and deep fried, and served with a creamy herbed tomato sauce for dipping.

Another favorite of our table was the Margherita Flatbread. A simple dish but this one had lots of fresh flavor. So tasty I may have had more than one piece.

We were served samples of three of their milkshakes: Chocolate, Make A Wish (a cake-flavored shake that comes with the candle), and Very Berry Blast.

We also split a Strawberry Cheesecake Overload, featuring strawberry ice cream interspersed with cheesecake chunks, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, & white chocolate shavings.

While noshing on the food samples, we tried shot-sized servings of four of their signature Goblet drinks. Each goblet features 8 shots of alcohol, and fun garnishes like gummi candy and lollipops. From left to right in the photo: Mai Tai, Ocean Blue with shark gummis, Lollipop Passion with 2 giant lollipops & candy necklace, and White Gummi with gummi worms.

They also arrive smoking to the tables.

But the best entrance award went to the World Famous King Kong Sundae, which came with sparklers announcing its arrival.

This beast of a dessert feature 24 scoops of ice cream, covered in hot fudge, strawberry & caramel sauce, sliced bananas, toasted marshmallows, Reese’s Pieces, chocolate chip cookies, crushed waffle cones, gummi bears, white chocolate shavings, pretzels, walnuts & whipped cream, and garnished with giant lollipops and the sparklers. It’ll set you back about $100, but it does serve 12-15 people easily.

I’ll be doing an actual sit-down dinner review this weekend, but if you can’t wait, Sugar Factory Orlando is taking reservations now via opentable.com for dates December 28 and beyond.

Sugar Factory Orlando is located at I-Drive 360, right under The Orlando Eye. In addition to a sit-down restaurant, you can get their ice-cream drinks and bagged candy in the storefront portion of the eatery.
