Out and About: Lafayette’s Orlando Serves Up New Brunch at Pointe Orlando

Lafayette’s Orlando is full of southern charm and good food, so when I heard they were now offering a Sunday Brunch, I grabbed Joan and we went to check it out.

Lafayette's Orlando

The restaurant is located on the 2nd Level of Pointe Orlando, in between I-Drive and Universal Blvd, next to sister eateries B.B. King’s and Itta Bena.

The brunch runs from 11am to 3pm, and we arrived around 2pm. We were offered a seat on the pation, but opted for the air conditioned inside due to the unseasonably warm weather.

After ordering glasses of mimosa, Joan opted to try the California Benedict, which featured two poached eggs, sliced tomatoes, avocado, applewood bacon on an English muffin topped with hollandaise sauce and served with hash browns.

It was delicious! The tomato added an unexpected lightness to the dish that brightened it up.

I was in the mood for eggs, so I went with the Build Your Own Omelet, with tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and cheese, served with a biscuit and hash browns. The biscuit was cold but otherwise it was a tasty dish, and they didn’t skimp on the omelet fillings either. It was loaded.

We wrapped up with their Beignets with ice cream dessert. Not true beignets, but it was a nice dish to finish with.

The menu not only has breakfast items, but some lunch items, too, and these are the ones you should get if you want a Southern flair to your meal. Items include Cajun Crawfish pizza, Shrimp & Grits, as well as several burger options, and more.

Service was stellar, and I have to give a shout out to Jeronimo for steering us to the California Benedict. We were also entertained by a duo playing jazz while we ate. It was a nice touch.

If you’re looking for a weekend brunch in the I-Drive area, I would recommend checking out Lafayette Orlando’s Sunday Brunch. The only downside is they don’t validate for parking in the Pointe Orlando garage, so don’t loiter too long after you’re done eating.
