Orlando Science Center Hosts Anthropology Speaker Series feat. Dr. Lana Williams October 24, 2015

As part of a four-part Anthropology Speaker Series, with special guest speakers from the University of Central Florida, the Orlando Science Center will host Dr. Lana Williams on Saturday, October 24.

Mummies of the World at Orlando Science Center

This talk is appropriate for Orlando Science Center guests of all ages and will explore ancient Egyptian mummification.

From styling their hair to wearing sunscreen, their use of plants, dyes, minerals, and animal products rivals anything that we might use today. Dr. Williams will explore some of these products and how we have discovered their uses through our study of Egyptian mummies.

The Anthropology Speaker Series is included with paid admission to the Orlando Science Center. Current prices are $27 for adults, $24 for seniors and students, and $18 for youth (ages 3 – 11). Tickets include access to all four floors of exhibits, the blockbuster exhibit Mummies of the World, giant screen and 3-D educational films, one Hollywood feature-length film, and live programming. Members get free admission.
