The state of Florida is holding a sales tax holiday on hurricane supplies, starting Friday, May 30, through Sunday, June 8.
During this time period, sales tax will not be charged on items that would help in the event of a hurricane, from ice packs and batteries to weather radios and portable generators.
A full list of items approved for the sales tax holiday are available on the Florida Dept. of Revenue website.
The sales tax holiday on hurricane supplies is one of three sales tax holidays the state approved this year. The other two are a sales tax holiday on school supplies and clothes in August, and a sales tax holiday on energy-efficient appliances in September.
