This year, Walt Disney World will be extending Fourth of July celebrations for a full week of fun for guests.
From July 1 through 7, 2013, Walt Disney World will be participating in a red, white, and blue Limited Time Magic extravaganza to celebrate America’s independence.
“Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at the Magic Kingdom will actually take place all week, instead of just July 4. Featuring 14 minutes of fireworks, it will start at 9pm on July 3 and 4, and 10pm July 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7.
Magic Kingdom’s “Celebrate a Dream Come True” Parade will have additional characters during the week, as Goofy, Donald and Pluto dressed as a colonial fife and drum corps join a spirited procession down Main Street, U.S.A, prior to the parade. The will be joined by the Main Street Philharmonic, Citizens of Main Street and Walt Disney’s historic horse-drawn calliope.
There will be plenty of patriotic souvenirs from USA shirts to trading pins. Chefs will also be whipping up American-inspired treats like red, white and blue strawberry shortcake in the Magic Kingdom and apple pie filled cupcakes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney.
