Kobra and the Lotus to Play with Fear Factory at The Haven in Winter Park on May 11, 2013

kobraandlotusIf you like female-fronted heavy metal, then you’ll want to check out Kobra and the Lotus when they open for Fear Factory at The Haven in Winter Park on May 11, 2013.

Formed in 2009 by powerhouse vocalist Kobra Paige, the band have created a solid following through hard work that has landed them slots at metal festivals like Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, and Download.

They will also be the subject of a reality TV show, “Rock City,” on SpikeTV, airing Fall 2013. The 8 episodes will chronicle the band as they take to the road on their world tour.

Their self-titled major label debut was released April 16, and the band is co-signed to Simmons’ Records (owned by Gene Simmons of KISS). Listening to the first single, “50 Shades of Evil,” it sounds as if Iron Maiden and Warlock feat. Doro had a lovechild.

Tickets to The Haven show are $18 in advance/$25 day of show, and ages 16 and up can attend. Also on the bill are Hate Eternal, F.I.L.T.H., Born From Ashes, and Who Was I.
