As a tie-in between the theme parks and its movies, Disney will introduce guests to the Land of Oz, during the 20th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival in 2013.
The upcoming Oz: The Great and Powerful tells the story of a young man who became the Wizard of Oz. It is due in theaters March 8, the first weekend of the festival, which runs March 06 through May 19, 2013.
To bring the film to life at Epcot, Disney will create an original interactive play area to be set up along Imagination Walkway.
Here, there will be a circus-themed area with Midway-style games, play equipment adorned with giant flowers, and even the “great and powerful Oz’s” crashed hot-air balloon. There will also be an “Oz Movie Garden” that will capture the spirit of the film, with lush, unusual plants. There will be plenty of fun photo opportunities in this area.
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival events are included with regular admission to the theme park.
