Disney has announced that one of their major attractions at the Animal Kingdom park will close on January 6, 2013, for refurbishment.

Kali River Rapids has been at the park since it first opened in 1999.

It is a water ride, where a group of up to twelve people sit in a large circular raft, and ride a raging river. The highlight of the attraction is a steep drop that may take you by surprise.

The ride will be closed until February 15, 2013. During this time, Disney will be making improvements and upgrades to it.
