The Orlando Public Library will kick off 2013 with events centered around the popular Marvel Comics characters that are known as The Avengers.
From January 2 through 5, the central branch downtown will show a daily movie. Iron Man kicks things off on Wednesday, January 2, at 3pm. Iron Man 2 follows at 5pm. They’ll be showing Thor on Thursday, January 3, at 5:30pm, and Captain America: The First Avenger will be shown Friday, January 4, at noon.
The week winds up on Saturday, January 5, with a 1pm showing of The Avengers. That will be followed by an appearance by author Jason Surrell at 4pm. His book, Avengers: The Art of Marvel’s The Avengers, features concept art, full-color photographs from the set, excerpts from the script, and exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, including writer/director Joss Whedon. After his talk, a book sale and author signing will take place.
Best of all, all of these events are free to attend.
