Emily Kopp Kicks Off Tour with Will’s Pub Show on July 1

Singer-songwriter Emily Kopp may only be 20, but she grew up playing drums for bands and entertaining the masses at wine bars and coffee shops with her guitar.

.

Now she’s striking out on her own with her first single, “How Did We Get Here,” off her upcoming debut EP, Just Clothes.

Her soulful pop has grabbed the ears of artists she’s met working at a live music venue, such as Marc Cohn, Joshua Radin, Joe Bonamassa, and Marc Broussard, whom she now considers to be mentors and friends. She says she also finds herself inspired by artists like Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae and Adele (who currently is #1 on the Billboard singles charts).

In anticipation of the October 2011 release of Just Clothes, Kopp plans to hit the road on a tour of the southeastern U.S. starting with a show this Friday, July 1, at Will’s Pub (1040 N. Mills Ave., Orlando).

Tickets to the show are $8 in advance (purchase online at plazaliveorlando.com) and $10 at the door, and it starts at 8pm.

You can also follow the latest on Kopp, including tour dates, at her Facebook page.
