Uh Huh Her to Play The Social on May 15

Listening to electro-indie duo Uh Huh Her, one hears a definite new wave and glam synth pop influence in their sound, but there’s a defiance to the songs that dares you to outright declare that they sound just like (fill in the blanks).

. |: Grey and Hailey are Uh Huh Her

Fans of indie pop will know both members of Uh Huh Her. Camila Grey was formerly of lo-fi indie outfit Mellowdrone.

Leisha Hailey may be more famous as an actress – she was Alice Pieszecki in the Showtime series The L Word for all six seasons. I, however, first came to know Hailey as part of 90’s indie duo The Murmurs, which had hit with their song, “You Suck,” in 1994. Still love that song.

Anyways, Hailey and Grey are now Uh Huh Her, and last month, they released an awesome six-song EP called “Black and Blue” and are currently on tour to help promote it. Lucky us, the tour happens to wind through Orlando tomorrow, May 15.

So if you’re looking for something fun to do on a Sunday, and want to check out this great band, they’ll be playing The Social, with Diamonds Under Fire opening. Tickets are only $15 at the door.

If you want a taste of Uh Huh Her, here’s the video for “Black and Blue” (which has overtones of New Order), their first song off the EP.

And just because I can, here’s some retro love for Hailey, the video for “You Suck” by The Murmurs.
