Breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe Leaves Us with Happy Tummies

On a recent morning, my roommate Rhonda and I had found ourselves out by The Loop in Kissimmee when the tummy rumblings couldn’t be ignored anymore. Looking at our dining options in the area, we decided to try Mimi’s Cafe on Osceola Pkwy.

Due to road construction, it was a bit difficult to get into the parking lot, even with a stoplight, but once we did, there was plenty of parking next to the building.

We entered and were immediately seated at a booth in a side room. There were only a few other diners in our area, so it was pleasantly quiet.

Mimi’s serves breakfast all day, and since we had a buy one-get one free coupon (received via email), we looked over that portion of the menu.

Rhonda settled on the Monterey omelette, a three-egg concoction filled with bacon, avocado and jack cheese. It was served with red skin potatoes.

I decided to do a brunch-type of dish, the chipotle breakfast burrito. It consisted of scrambled eggs, spiced shredded beef, green onions, cilantro and black beans, stuffed into a tomato tortilla and covered in a chipotle sauce and melted cheese. It, too, was served with red skin potatoes.

In addition to the above, both dishes came with a small juice and a huge muffin.

So even though the menu prices average $9 per dish, you get a lot of food for that. So much so that we both took our muffins home and I took half my burrito, as well.

Then because we mentioned we were Mimi’s first-timers, we also got a special gift of four free muffins to take home.

Bottom line is Mimi’s served up really tasty and filling food for a decent price. Using the coupon saved us even more (get yours by going to the Mimi’s Cafe website and signing up for their free mailing list).

There are several locations in the Orlando area.
