Walt Disney World Says Let the Memories Begin with New Show at Magic Kingdom

Every year, Walt Disney World picks a theme for their parks to promote for the coming year. Recent years have focused on things like volunteering and group celebrations.

This year’s theme is “Let the Memories Begin” and it’s based on the idea of the good memories guests make by visiting the Disney parks.

To kick off this celebration, a new show has debuted at the Magic Kingdom, called “The Magic, The Memories, and You!”

During the day, Disney PhotoPass photographers will roam the park taking pictures of guests enjoying a day at the Magic Kingdom. The park will then choose 500 of these photos and piece them together into a multi-media show that takes place at the castle.

Or should I say, ON the castle to be more precise.

In creating this show, the castle was digitally mapped and the idea is that those 500 guest photos are incorporated into a slide-show of sorts that is actually projected onto the side of the castle, mixed with music and special effects. The show is said to take about ten minutes.

Sixteen projectors, set up at four rooftop locations, wrap images all the way around Cinderella castle.

You do have the option to opt out (in case you’re in the witness protection program or something), but imagine how cool it will be to possibly see you and your family or friends projected on the castle itself.
