Out and About: The New Highball & Harvest Sunday Brunch at Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes

If you’re like me, nothing satisfies the hunger like a good brunch, and last weekend, I had the opportunity to try the new Sunday Brunch at Highball & Harvest at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes.

The brunch only runs from noon to 2pm, so we arrived just as they were opening the buffet area. Taking a quick spin around the room, I saw a nice selection of breakfast dishes, salads, cheeses, carved meats, savory dishes, and more.

1921 by Norman Van Aken will start Sunday brunch service November 13. The menu is a la carte and features dishes such as Corn Tamale Scramble, Acorn Squash Salad, Chicken & Waffles served with Asian spiced syrup, and the Full Moon Saloon Fish Sandwich with frites.

Hours are 11:30am to 2pm, and reservations are suggested. The restaurant is located at 142 East 4th Avenue in Mount Dora.

DoveCote debuts a new Sunday brunch on November 6. The brasserie-style brunch menu features a variety of French-inspired dishes by Chef Clay, including his signature Croque Madame , Chicken & Sausage Casserole, Pearl Sugar Waffle and, of course, a classic French Fine Herb Omelet. Prickly Pear Steakhouse Changes Sunday Brunch Menu from All-You-Can-Eat to A La Carte

pricklypear-brunchburgerBack in February, we reported that the Prickly Pear Steakhouse in downtown Orlando was starting a Sunday Bacon Brunch, an all-you-can-eat buffet for $14.95.

According to recent information from the restaurant, they no longer offer the buffet. It’s now an a la carte brunch menu with separate prices for each item. They said it is what their customers were requesting.

The Bloody Mary Bar is still $5 for one or $14.95 for all-you-can-drink, and the mimosas are still $4 for one and $14.95 for all-you-can-drink.

Reps for the restaurant say they may bring the all-you-can-eat buffet back for special occasions and holidays.

Prickly Pear Steakhouse offers their Sunday Brunch from 11am to 3pm, and reservations are suggested.

The restaurant, owned by the FMI Restaurant Group, is located at 100 S. Eola Drive (in the Sanctuary Condominium building) in Thornton Park. Phone is 407-781-2539.

This all-you-can-eat buffet offers eggs cooked to order, fruit, sausage, home fries, biscuits, gravy, and so much more. Oh and don’t forget that bacon bar featuring all kinds of bacon-inspired dishes.

The cost? A mere $14.95 per person.

You can also add on a Bloody Mary Bar to your brunch. featuring house made options including pickles vegetables, celery, peppers, eggs and many other items including the Bananas & Funky Monkey Hot Sauces served with Funky Monkey Vodka. Cost is $5 per drink or $14 for all-you-can-drink.

Not a Bloody Mary fan? Mimosas are also $4 per or $14 all-you-can-drink, during the brunch.
