Walt Disney World To Debut Two Limited Time Star Wars Themed Dining Experiences on May 4, 2014

Just in time for this year’s Star Wars Weekends, Walt Disney World will be debuting two limited-time Star Wars themed dining experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney characters as Star Wars charactersBeginning May 4 – or as known in the Star War universe, Star Wars Day – guests will be able to partake in both breakfast and dinner with Disney characters dressed up in their best Star Wars garb.

Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast” will be held at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. The screen, which normally shows classic drive-in trailers and ads, will show clips from the Star Wars saga as guests dine on breakfast. There will be characters present during the meal.

Actor Mark Hamill Confirmed to Appear For First Time at Star Wars Weekends 2014 at Walt Disney World

Mark HamillWalt Disney World has announced the first guest for this year’s Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it’s a big one…actor Mark Hamill.

Hamill portrayed the iconic Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episodes IV-VI, and this will be his first appearance at the event.

He is scheduled to appear during the fourth weekend, June 6-8, 2014. He will be participating in the daily “Legends of the Force” Star Wars-themed motorcade and in a featured talk show. Unfortunately, he will not be signing autographs.

Star Wars Weekends 2014 Expands to Five Weeks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Star Wars Weekends, one of the most popular theme park events in Orlando, is expanding in 2014 to five weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Star Wars WeekendsThis year’s theme is “Join the Rebellion,” and the event will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the following dates:

  • Weekend I: May 16 – 18, 2014
  • Weekend II: May 23 – 25, 2014
  • Weekend III: May 30 – June 1, 2014
  • Weekend IV: June 6 – 8, 2014
  • Weekend V: June 13 – 15, 2014

No guests have been listed yet, but James Arnold Taylor will return to Star Wars Weekends 2014 as the event’s official celebrity host. He is the voice of hundreds of animated characters, including Obi-Wan Kenobi on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

Unfortunately word comes that Disney will be ending the popular Hyperspace Hoopla during Star Wars Weekends, replacing it with a nightly fireworks featuring Star Wars music. That’s sad as it was one of the main reasons I went every year. I loved the Hyperspace Hoopla and the dance-off.

Star Wars Weekend activities and guests are included with regular park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

CitySurfing Orlando popped into Disney’s Hollywood Studios this holiday weekend and managed to catch the Star Wars Weekends version of Motorcade of Stars. Celebrity guests in the parade included Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok).

Walt Disney World to Issue Limited Edition Star Wars Weekends Gift Cards

For the first time, Disney’s Imagineers have created four unique Star Wars-themed Disney gift cards for Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The cards will be made available over a four-week period, one per week.

Skywalker Mickey debuts May 17. Darth Donald is available May 24. Yoda Stitch goes on sale May 31 and Darth Goofy will be the final gift card released on June 7.

Each card will also contain a hidden Mickey in the design.

They are non-denominational (meaning you choose the amount put on the card) and they don’t expire.

Billy Dee Williams Added to 2013 Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Williams is a fan favorite for his portrayal of Lando Calrissian in the original Star Wars trilogy. He will be appearing during the final weekend of June 7-9. He will sign autographs, as well as be participating in the “Stars of the Saga” talk shows, where he will talk about his character and tell stories of filming.

Star Wars Weekends takes place Fridays through Sundays, and will run this year from May 17 – June 9, 2013.

This event is included in regular park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Walt Disney World Announces 2013 Star Wars Weekend Dates and First Guests

starwarsweekends2013Star Wars Weekends is only a few months away, so Walt Disney World has announced the actual dates, as well as the first two guests, and this year’s logo.

This year’s event will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from May 17 through June 9, 2013. It will once again take over Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The first guests announced are action star Ray Park (Darth Maul), who will appear the first and second weekends, and Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok), who will appear the second and third weekends.

Since 2013 is the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, this year’s Star Wars Weekends poster pays homage, with Jedi Mickey and Chip and Dale escaping the Stormtroopers on Endor.

One of the most popular annual events at Walt Disney World is Star Wars Weekends, and it was just announced that the 2013 fan fest will run May 17 through June 9.

The Force-filled event will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through those dates, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Exact details, like celebrity guests attending, are still being worked out, but Disney has announced that James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein are returning as celebrity hosts.

Taylor is known to Star Wars fans as the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV series, while Eckstein voices Anakin’s Padawan, Ahsoka Tano on the show.

One of the most popular annual events at Walt Disney World is Star Wars Weekends, which occurs at the tail end of every spring for four consecutive weekend.

The guest list for each weekend has been released, along with the celebrity hosts.

James Arnold Taylor, who provides the voice for Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars animated TV series, will serve as the Official Celebrity Host for all four weekends.

Joining him all four weekends will be Ashley Eckstein, who provides the voice of Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars. She will host “Behind the Force,” a behind the scenes glimpse at her show.

The 2012 dates and guests have been released and they are:
