John Rivers, chef/owner of the nationally-acclaimed 4 Rivers Smokehouse and The COOP, has announced that Chef Whitney Miller will be joining The COOP as new Chef de Cuisine.
Chef Miller is the first season winner of the U.S. version of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s hit TV series MasterChef. Her second cookbook, “Whitney Miller’s New Southern Table: My Favorite Family Recipes with a Modern Twist,” will be released October 27.
This week Soco Restaurant had their official opening in Thorton Park.
Soco, under the direction of award-winning Executive Chef/Partner Greg Richie, features Southern Contemporary cuisine. The restaurant is offering a full dinner menu, full dessert menu, and a full wine and cocktail list.
Small plate starters include Crab-Stuffed Deviled Duck Eggs, Slow-Roasted Barbeque-Glazed Pork Belly Biscuits, and Soco-Style Chicken and Dumplings. Main dishes include Pecan-Crusted Carolina Fluke with Shrimp Hushpuppies, and Grilled Meatloaf on Lobster Mashed Potatoes.
