The Florida Fire Frogs welcome former University of Florida alum Tim Tebow and the St. Lucie Mets to town for a four-game series at Osceola County Stadium, July 21-24.
There will also be special event nights coinciding with these games:
“Star Wars Night” presented by 103.1 The Wolf will take place on Saturday, July 22. Fire Frogs players will wear “Death Star” themed jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game. Proceeds of the auction will benefit the Special Olympics, and more.
This week Central Florida’s new Minor League Baseball team announced it’s new name, chosen from hundreds of submissions received over the summer during the team’s “Name the Team” contest.
The name chosen? Florida Fire Frogs.
Central Florida residents have one more chance to play a role in naming the area’s new Minor League Baseball team.
The top six finalists for the “Name the Team” contest were unveiled recently, and the organization is asking fans to vote for their favorite.

With the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros announcing earlier this year they would no longer be holding their spring training in Central Florida, many wondered if baseball would be gone for good.
Fans of the sport can rest easy, as it was announced the Brevard County Manatees, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, will relocate to Osceola County Stadium beginning in the spring of 2017.
Every spring, fifteen Major League Baseball teams head for Florida for Spring Training. This group of baseball teams is known as the Florida Grapefruit League, and this year marks the 125th anniversary of the FLG.
Of the teams that train in Florida, two call the Orlando area home: the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros.
The Atlanta Braves are calling Champion Stadium at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World home for their training. Their first game is a home game against the Detroit Tigers on February 22.
The Houston Astros will be based at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee for their spring training. Their first game is against the Phillies in Clearwater on February 23, but the following day, they’ll play their first home game against the Mets.
