I didn’t know much about it other than it was a Tony award winning play adapted from the book of the same name, so I was intrigued when I saw the stage set up.

Based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling graphic memoir, Fun Home introduces us to Alison at three different ages, revealing memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family – her mother, brothers and volatile, brilliant, enigmatic father – that connect with her in surprising new ways. You may also know her as one of the women credited with creating the Bechdel Test

This performance will be a concert version of the groundbreaking musical to raise money for Equality Florida and the LGBTQ community of Orlando.

Out and About: Dirty Dancing a Fun Stage Version of the Movie

I had the the Time of My Life last night, as the touring production of Dirty Dancing debuted at the Dr Phillips Center in Orlando.

Based on the classic movie, the stage version turned out to be just as high-energy and full of great dancing. The production even worked in a bunch of songs that were cut for time from the movie.
