The popular Ace Cafe is expanding their brand and has chosen Orlando as the first North American location. We got a hard hat tour of the work-in-progress renovations of the downtown location last week, and it was impressive.

Ace Cafe Orlando is located on a three-acre block at the corner of W. Livingston St. and Garland Ave. (across from the Lynx station). It was originally the Harry P. Leu Building, and in the years since, has been home to The Edge and 8 Seconds night clubs, among others.

STK Orlando has officially opened its doors at Disney Springs, and on Tuesday night, CitySurfing Orlando was invited to the Grand Opening Party.

This location, the 11th for the brand, is the largest with over 14,000-sq-ft. and seating on two levels. the first floor features a lounge area, bar, a seated dining area, and a private dining room that can seat 12. Lighting is dim, and a DJ is stationed here, too.

Out and About: Hard Hat Tour of Mango’s Orlando

Last week I was invited to a hard hat tour to check out the progress of Mango’s Orlando on International Drive, and discovered things were coming along nicely.

HAUNTED HOUSES/MAZES IN ORLANDO:

Haunted Nighttime Corn Maze at Tinney Farms in St. Cloud. October 24-25, October 30-November 1.
Enjoy a Children of the Corn scare experience starting at 8pm. Tinney Farms is located at 5145 E. Irlo Bronson Mem Hwy. Admission is $5.

Legends: A Haunting at Old Town at Old Town Kissimmee. Thursdays through Sundays ’til November 1.
“A Haunting at Old town” combines live actors, detailed sets and state of the art effects. Admission is $12 online/$15 at the entrance.

Orlando Haunted Yard in Orlando. October 24-25, October 30-November 1.
This is actually a maze with several different paths of scares to explore. It’s located at 3209 Calloway Dr. Admission is $10 with proceeds benefiting St. Jude’s.

A Petrified Forest in Altamonte Springs. Open weekends through November 1.
One of the scariest haunted trails in Central Florida. There will be creatures lurking around every corner. This trail is rated PG-13. $15 for a single trail.

The Shallow Grave in Winter Haven. Open weekends through November 1.
Located at 701 42nd St NW. Tickets Start at $15.

Terror on the Lake in Clermont. Open October 24-26, and October 29-November 1.
Located at Town Center at Cagan Crossings (16729 Cagan Oaks), guests can enjoy Fear Manor, a “coffin” ride, fortune tellers, zombie shooting gallery and more. Tickets range from $7-$13 per attraction, or $21 for a pass for all attractions.
