LEGOLAND Florida Resort, in conjunction with Merlin’s Magic Wand, the global charity of LEGOLAND’s parent company Merlin Entertainment, has announced it is donating 20,000 theme park tickets to lift the spirits of Florida children in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

LEGOLAND Florida will donate 18,000 tickets to the UNICEF Kid Power Schools Program, a teacher-led experience that incorporates lessons and activities with the world’s first Wearable-for-Good®. More than 80 percent of students reached with the UNICEF Kid Power program in Florida are eligible for free or reduced lunch.

Out and About: SEA LIFE Aquarium Brings World’s Oceans to Orlando

In a city full of attractions and theme parks, one thing Orlando has been lacking is a quality aquarium. With the opening this week of SEA LIFE Aquarium, that is no longer the case.

We had the chance to check it out during a recent media preview, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Upon entering SEA LIFE, you pass a photo op area. Photos taken here will later be digitized into CGI settings like being underwater with fish, then ready for purchase at the end of the attraction. You then enter a cute round theater, with a video running on the ceiling.

Out and About: The Orlando Eye Offers Exhilarating View of Central Florida

One of the hottest attractions to hit Orlando is The Orlando Eye, and on April 29, I got an media preview of what it’s like to ride inside the observation wheel. Good news is the Orlando Eye opens today, May 4, so you can now ride for yourself!

Once you arrive at the entrance to the Orlando Eye, you reach a scanner station with machines to read your tickets. Just past that is a trio of photo stations, where the staff will take your photo against a green screen. These photos, of course, will be available for you to purchase at the end of the ride.

Merlin Entertainment has announced the opening of its newly renamed I-Drive 360 will happen in Spring 2015.

Anchoring the new entertainment complex will be The Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds, and Sea Life Aquarium, and the company has released new concept art for the projects.

The Orlando Eye is a cantilevered observation wheel that will offer views of Central Florida in all directions within fully enclosed, air-conditioned glass capsules. It is a little sister to the world-famous London Eye.
