As I mentioned in the previous MegaCon 2016 panel recap, I enjoyed quite a few celebrity talks during the weekend event. Here is the continued recap of those talks, along with some must-watch video.
Memorial Day weekend thousands of people took over the Orange County Convention Center for MegaCon 2016, and I was one of them!
The four day event featured lots of great cosplay, genre-themed panels, and merchandise to buy. But one of the main highlights of the weekend for me were the celebrity panels, where we were able to spend time with our favorite actors, and even ask questions if we were fast enough to line up for the microphones.
MegaCon returns to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Memorial Weekend, May 26-29, 2016.
This four-day fest features celebrities from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and comics. Fans can meet their favorites, get autographs and photos, view Q&A panels, and more.
Among the guests scheduled to appear are:

We weren’t sure if the crowds would be at the crazy level they were on Saturday, so we headed in extra early on Sunday. Parking was still a beast to deal with, but once inside, we were happy to find crowds were more manageable.
Because of the problems they had the day before, MegaCon decided to try a new system of lining up for panels. I can’t say people were pleased, especially for my first panel for Wil Wheaton. They made everyone fill in all the way to the ends as they entered the room, which resulted in people at the front of the line sitting way off the the sides with bad views. A lot of upset people during that panel, but they seemed to get it worked out before the day was over.

Arriving early on Saturday, we were again greeted with a wall of traffic just to park. It took over an hour, and I made it inside with 10 minutes to spare before the first panel I wanted to see.
Actor James Marsters was also late due to the traffic, but once the panel started, he regaled us with stories about his days on the sets of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Torchwood. Fielding questions from fans, he also sang a little bit, and plugged his band’s concert later that evening at MegaCon.

The event started Friday, March 21, and even though we got there around noon, the parking lot was already nearly full and creating a backlog of traffic trying to get in. I checked in, got my pass, and barely made it to my first panel of the day for the TV show Smallville. I followed that with panels for the original Battlestar Galactica TV show, and for actor John Barrowman.

Also appearing are several voice-over artists, like Phil Lamarr, and a slew of comic book artists in the popular Artists Alley in the exhibition hall.
More guests will likely be added as the event draws closer (I’m hoping for John Barrowman to be added to the Torchwood list, or a few Firefly guests), but this is a really good start, so far, don’t you think?
