Two new attractions were announced for Epcot at this weekend’s D23 Expo, and one of them will be Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired.
This attraction will not be the same as the recently opened Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, which debuted at Disney California Adventure park earlier this year..
Memorial Day weekend thousands of people took over the Orange County Convention Center for MegaCon 2016, and I was one of them!
The four day event featured lots of great cosplay, genre-themed panels, and merchandise to buy. But one of the main highlights of the weekend for me were the celebrity panels, where we were able to spend time with our favorite actors, and even ask questions if we were fast enough to line up for the microphones.
It was girl’s night out at the first show of Marvel Universe LIVE! at the Amway Center on Friday, December 5. Myself, my roommate, our family writer Carol, and her daughter – all Marvel fans – were there to check out this new arena touring show based on the characters and storylines of Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains.
Marvel’s Iron Man 3 isn’t due in theaters until May 3, but Walt Disney World is already kicking off promoting the movie by re-theming one of its monorail vehicles to an Iron Man motif.
Starting this last weekend (in time for the huge Easter crowds at the theme park), guests could ride aboard an monorail featuring Iron Man on one end, and the Iron Patriot (another IM3 character) on the other.
Here is a photo of the entire vehicle:
And here is a close up of the Iron Man end – note the placement of the Stark Industries logo:
Finally, here is a shot of the Iron Patriot end:
I personally love when Disney does this kind of stuff, and it’s good to see a Marvel presence at WDW. Hopefully there will also be some good Iron Man 3 merchandise available around the movie’s release.
