SeaWorld Orlando will kick off their new Praise Wave Christian Music Festival on Saturdays this month, and it will feature performances by the hottest names in Christian music, food, and more.

The event kicks off February 14, with performances by Lecrae and Colton Dixon. Then on February 21, enjoy the sounds of Steven Curtis Chapman. The festival will close February 28, with an as-yet-to-be-named entertainer.

Rock the Universe Christian music festival returns to Universal Orlando the weekend of September 5 and 6.

Musical acts on Friday include Third Day, Newsboys, and Jeremy Camp. On Saturday, bands include Switchfoot, Lecrae, and TobyMac. In addition to the music, there will be inspiring guest speakers, a candlelighting ceremony, and more.

Universal Orlando Gets Ready to Rock The Universe Again September 6-7, 2013

One of Universal Orlando‘s biggest annual events is Rock the Universe, which is a two day Christian music festival that will take place this year the weekend of September 6-7, 2013.

Universal Orlando Rock the UniverseAmong the headliners are 2012 Grammy winners Lecrae, Grammy award-winning group and Daytona Beach natives Casting Crowns; Grammy nominated and winner of 20 Dove Awards Chris Tomlin ; and rock band Switchfoot, which has sold millions of albums worldwide.

Christian and Gospel music fans will come together to celebrate the 31st edition of Walt Disney World’s Night of Joy music festival the weekend of September 6-7, 2013.

For the first time, Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith will team up together for a performance, as well as perform separate sets. Returning favorites include MercyMe, TobyMac, Skillet, and Newsboys.

The full line-up for the two nights is:

  • Friday, September 6: Mercy Me, Steven Curtis Chapman & Michael W. Smith, Skillet, Mandisa, Audio Adrenaline, For King and Country, Moriah Peters, We As Human and City Harbor

Night of Joy Celebrates 30th Year at Magic Kingdom in September

It’s one of the longest music festivals in Orlando, and Night of Joy is returning to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World for its 30th year.

September 7 and 8 are the dates for this year’s contemporary Christian music festival. Sixteen artists will take to the three stages set up – the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage, the Galaxy Stage, and the Rockettower Plaza Stage.

Friday will offer Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, NEEDTOBREATHE, Brandon Heath, Red, Francesca Battistelli, Royal Tailor, and Disciple.

Saturday’s line-up is MercyMe, Third Day, Lecrae, Theresa Bailey, Yolanda Adams, Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutless, Dara Maclean, and Chris August.

The official Disney Parks blog has the exact times and stage location for each artist.

Night of Joy is an after-hours event, running from 7:30pm to 1am each evening. In addition to the music, many of the Magic Kingdom’s attractions will be open, as well.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $52.95 (plus tax), for each day. If still available, tickets may be purchased day of at the park’s ticket windows for $62.95 (plus tax). This is a separately ticketed event – regular admission tickets and passes will not work.

The beginning of September will see thousands of Christian music fans visiting Universal Orlando to see their favorite bands in concert.

Rock the Universe is the theme park’s annual Christian music festival and this year it features some of the most popular names in the genre, performing over two days.

On Friday, September 7, Skillet, Newsboys, and Jeremy Camp will headline a line-up that also features For King & Country, Family Force 5, Robert Pierre, Group 1 Crew, We As Human, and Everfound.

Saturday, September 8, sees tobyMac, Switchfoot, and Reliant K headlining, with Britt Nicole, Tenth Avenue North, Rhett Walker Band, Group 1 Crew, We As Human, and Everfound also on the bill.

Saturday night there will also be a candle lighting service featuring Tenth Avenue North, guest speakers and more.

Both nights, guests can also enjoy a Fan Zone presented by Coca-Cola including live music by up-and-coming acts Everfound and We As Human, autograph sessions with the bands, karaoke and band merchandise.

Oh, yeah, and you can also do all the normal park attractions and rides, since the festival takes place inside the Universal Studios park.

Rock the Universe is a separately ticketed event. A two-day pass is $85.99, and a one-day pass is $52.99. There are discounts for ticket buyers with a Universal Orlando annual pass. Buy online to see other ticket options.
