PDQ has added the Honey Butter Chicken sandwich to its menu

PDQ has added the Honey Butter Chicken sandwich to its menu. It’s made with fresh chicken breast fried, then dipped in homemade honey butter and served with bread and butter pickles on a toasted brioche bun.

The restaurant brand has two Central Florida locations in Sanford and Lakeland, with a third planned to open soon in Clermont.

Fig & Julep has opened at 348 N. Park Ave in Winter Park. The gourmet food store specializes in charcuterie, food gifts, and more, and is the sister store to The Ancient Olive nearby.

Atom Bombs are back at all Tijuana Flats locations in Central Florida for a limited time. They consist of fried flour shells filled with cream cheese and fresh jalapenos with a side of Smack Sweet Chili for dipping. Only $3.99 so get them before they’re gone.

RA Sushi has introduced a seasonal menu of shareable dishes

RA Sushi has introduced a seasonal menu of shareable dishes including Thai Style Chicken Satay, “RA”ckin’ Calamari, and several Asian-inspired tacos, along with specialty cocktails including the Rosemary Monkey, Sour Sailor, and Milk & Cookies. This menu will be available through Mid-April 2017 at the Pointe Orlando location of the brand.

Evette Rahman, owner of local bake shop Sister Honey’s, has won the World Dessert Champion title at the recent World Food Championships at Orange Beach, Alabama. Congrats Evette!

The Americas Cake Fair returns to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando October 13-15, 2017. The event is the largest trade and consumer show for the pastry, bakery, sugar art and chocolate industries in North and South America. Registration doesn’t open until February 1, 2017, but you can sign up online to receive notifications when tickets go on sale.

According to the Orlando Weekly, Shantell’s Cafe will reopen in Sanford at 501 Sanford Ave. Look for an April opening and two supper seatings a night Wednesdays through Saturdays. The new location will also feature a rooftop cigar lounge with full bar service.

On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina will be opening a location just west of Walt Disney World in Kissimmee at 3250 Rolling Oaks Blvd. The Texas-based brand offers mesquite-grilled meat, fresh ingredients, hand-pressed tortillas, and sauces made in small batches. No opening date has been set, but they currently have a location at the Orlando International Airport.

Daya, which served a vegan menu, has closed in Winter Park. It’s last night of operation was December 8, 2016.
