Joe Marcinek Band to Play The Social Jan 5, 2017

The Joe Marcinek Band is on tour and will be making a stop at The Social in downtown Orlando on January 5, 2017.

The music is described as “a blend of jazz and funk with a cerebral emphasis on groove and improvisation,” and each show features a slightly different line-up, depending who is available.

Their latest album, Slink, was released December 9, 2016, by Hitman Records. It features featuring Bernie Worrell’s (P-Funk, Talking Heads) last recording, and is available at the usual online and retail outlets, as well as on Spotify to listen to.

The group has actually featured many prominent guests including Worrell, Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident / EOTO), Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band), Steve Molitz (Phil Lesh & Friends / Particle) JFareed Haque, Scott Metzger, Nate Werth (Snarky Puppy), Allie Kral (Yonder Mountain String Band), Freekbass, Vinnie Amico and Jim Loughlin (moe.) and more.

The Orlando show will feature Tony Hall (Dumpstaphunk) Shaun Martin (Snarky Puppy), and Alvin Ford Jr (Pretty Lights).
