Don’t forget Orlando Main Street Restaurant Week is still in effect until August 13. Participating restaurants are offering a select prix fixe menu with price points of $5 to $30. Read our post from last week for more information.

The Osprey Tavern will host an Adelsheim Wine Dinner on Sunday, August 21. Guests will enjoy a five-course dinner prepared by Chef Joseph Burnett along with a selection of red, white and rose wine pairings curated by and Sommelier Josh Nagel.

The Whiskey Orlando in Dr Phillips is hosting Forkplay on Sunday, August 14. This special dinner features five courses with whiskey pairings. Cost is $75 per person, and seating is limited to 50.

Funky Monkey Bistro and Bar at Pointe Orlando hosts the Julia Child’s 104th Birthday Wine Dinner on Monday, August 15. The menu will feature eight courses from Child’s recipes, which will be paired with French wines. Cost is $99 per person.

Ethos Vegan Kitchen in Winter Park is hosting Customer Appreciation Days this month. August 9, customers get a free cookie. August 18, customers get 20% off the food bill. August 20, 5% of sales will be donated to Orlando Food Not Bombs. Finally, August 24, customers 21+ get a free beer or wine.

Red Robin will open its newest Central Florda location on Monday, August 8, in the Lee Vista Promenade on the corner of Semoran and Lee Vista Blvd, just north of the airport.

To help celebrate the grand opening of the new restaurant, Red Robin will donate all sales of its signature Freckled Lemonade® from August 8 through August 14, to its national charity partner, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer.

Blaze Pizza is now open at the Town Center of Disney Springs. It offers pizzas with any number of toppings for one price. The 11-inch pizzas are flash-fired for 180 seconds, so you don’t have to wait long to eat. There is also another Orlando-area location over by UCF, at the corner of University and N. Alafaya.

Flying Fish Restaurant re-opens on Disney’s BoardWalk today after an extensive remodel. In addiition to a new interior, featuring a redesigned Chef’s Counter, the menu has been revamped to feature sustainable fish, as well as dishes such as Wagyu filet mignon; Maine lobster Nero Pasta with golden tomato sauce, young artichokes and micro-lemongrass; Wild Alaskan King salmon; bison striploin, and Wood-Fired Cobia and Carabinero Prawn with rosemary-laced arroz bomba, Peruvian sweet pepper and andouille.

A new high-tech wine system allows for almost 80 wines to be served by the glass, and wine flights are available, along with a new cocktail menu.

Carlo’s Bakery at the Florida Mall will be welcoming cast members from the TLC reality show Cake Boss this month. On August 22, head baker Joey Faugno, and research and product development chef Chad Durkin will host a meet-and-greet with fans.

Bulla Gastrobar will open this fall at Lakeside Crossing in Winter Park. The menu will be co-developed by Chef Miguel Rebolledo, who worked under legendary chef Ferran Adrià at the Spanish restaurant elBulli, along with his chef-partner Felix Plasencia. The brand also has two Miami-area locations.
