Florida Local Food Summit

The Florida Local Food Summit takes place September 9 at East End Market in Orlando. The event will be an educational gathering of local food producers, advocates, and community members, tailored to advance the knowledge of what we can do and be as a local food system.

Feed with the Farmers BBQ follows the Florida Local Food Summit on September 9. It will feature “farm-to-fork” BBQ, craft beer deals, other delicious local food offerings available from East End merchants, and live music. Cost is $20 (+ tax) per person. . Visit eastendmkt.com to register.

Taco68 opens today at 4pm. They are located downtown at 68 E Pine Street. I haven’t seen the menu, but they bill themselves as “Mexican-fusion”. For more info, visit facebook.com/Taco68Orlando.

Paddlefish at Disney Springs posted a photo on its Twitter showing a sneak peek of the redesigned interior. It appears to be on schedule for a late fall re-opening.

Marlow’s Tavern has opened its fourth location in Central Florida in the Lee Vista Promenade along Semoran Boulevard (SR-436) at Hazeltine National Drive by OIA.

They have a daily happy hour from 4-7pm with $3 Domestic Drafts $4 Glasses of Select Wines $4 Premium Wells. Wednesdays feature “Girls’ Night Out” specials from 5pm to close with $5 Drink and Appetizer Specials.

Rock & Brews Oviedo is offering Fantasy Football draft party packages from now until the kick off of the NFL season on September 8.

With the purchase of a party food package, guests will receive the use of a draft board complete with easy-to-remove stickers with each player’s name. The package includes three large pizzas and six appetizers for $200. Four pitchers of Bud Light, Mama’s or Miller Lite beer are available for an additional $40.

Somm wine bar at I-Drive 360 has closed after only a few months in business.

According to a post on their Facebook page, Maddey’s Craft & Cru in downtown Orlando has temporarily closed due to “unforseen circumstances.” Plans are to re-open sometime in September.
