Morimoto Asia Spring 2016 limited cocktails

Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs has debuted several new spring cocktails that sound delicious and refreshing. Priced at $14 each, enjoy a Tokushim Negroni (japanese citrus shochu, antica formula vermouth and orange peel), a Gingered Apple cocktail (aviation gin, lime, simple syrup, ginger pear, and muddled asian pear and apple), and a Sparkling Spring (sparkling wine, hibiscus simple syrup, yuzu lemon juice, and domaine de canton).

For those that that prefer brews to cocktails, try the limited edition Morimoto Sakura Beer, a seasonal kolsch-style beer made with cherry blossoms to dry hop the brew. It’s brewed only for Morimoto Asia by Central Florida’s Crooked Can brewery.

Portobello at Disney Springs

Portobello at Disney Springs is hosting a Roman Spring cooking class with James Beard Award winning chef Tony Mantuano on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from noon to 2pm.

The crash course in Italian cooking kicks off with an apertivo hour with passed wood-fired pizza with spring artichokes, and each course comes paired with Italian wines. Cost is $40 (+tax/gratuity) and reservations can be made by calling 407.828.8996.

Konbini, a Japanese-style convenience store offering quick eats, is set to open Saturday, March 26, at East End Market. It’s located in the spot previously occupied by Kappo, and will be owned and operated by the same people.

The 14th Annual Taiwanese Food Festival takes place Saturday, March 26, at the Florida Chinese Business Association in Orlando, near the Florida Mall. Admission is $10 per person, which includes $10 of food tickets, with the option to purchase more tickets. There will be over 40 samples of Taiwanese foods to try. RA Sushi Spring 2016 limited menu

RA Sushi is rolling out three limited-time spring menu offerings including Salmon Carpaccio (thinly sliced fresh salmon, drizzled with olive oil, topped with wasabi mayo and finished with a sprinkling of truffle sea salt and fresh dill), Pacific Roll (a spicy mix of albacore and cucumber topped with avocado, mango salsa, red tempura bits and sautéed cashews, served with a mango sauce), and “RA”ckin’ Shrimp Tacos (spicy “RA”ckin’ Shrimp on a bed of Asian coleslaw, in new crispy gyoza shells, finished with guacamole, a kick of ginger teriyaki sauce and red bell pepper.).

There are also three drinks on this spring menu: Gin & Juice, Spiked Raspberry Lemonade, and Mai Tai.

This spring menu is available through mid-June.

The 30th Annual Bacchus Bash takes place April 1 at the Orlando Premium Outlets – Vineland (by Walt Disney World). There will be over 70 food and beverage booths to sample from. Winter Park’s Croissant Gourmet announced this week on Facebook that their second location in College Park is now open for business. It’s located at 2445 Edgewater Dr.

Speaking of Winter Park, the neighborhood will gain three new eateries as part of the renovation of the Center of Winter Park shopping center (formerly known as the K-Mart plaza) across from the Winter Park Village. Blaze Pizza, TooJay’s and Zoës Kitchen will all be opening in the next few months.

Sister downtown Orlando pubs The Harp & Celt make the list of 25 most authentic Irish pubs in America, according to The Daily Meal, via MSN.com, which cites, “This energetic, bi-level hangout is filled with cozy wood booths and serves buzzworthy classic Irish eats and terrific brews to boot.”
