Four Seasons Orlando - Plancha - eggs benedict

Plancha, the Cuban American restaurant at Four Seasons Orlando will begin offering Sunday Brunch on March 13, 2016. Guests will have three breakfast options to choose from:

A three-course menu with buffet appetizers, choice of one entrée, and desert, along with soft drinks/juices, and one alcholic beverage for $68 per person; Buffet only for $45 per person; and a la carte at menu pricing.

Entrees and a la carte items include a roasted prime rib, vegan spaghetti zucchini, cured salmon, American beef slider, Tampa Bay shrimp omelet with jalapenos and cilantro, a twisted benedict with truffle hollandaise and grilled asparagus, a “very berry” French toast, oatmeal pancakes, and fried chicken and white cheddar waffles. The buffet will include assorted salads, fruits, smoked salmon and bagels, artisan meats and cheeses, black bean hummus and vegetables, assorted breakfast pastries and much more.

Congratulations to Kathleen Blake of The Rusty Spoon in Orlando, Scott Hunnel of Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and James and Julie Petrakis of The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park who have been nominated as semifinalists for the Best Chef South at the James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards. They are up against 17 other semifinalists and the final nominees will be announced March 15, with the winner chosen May 2.

Masterchef Junior contestant Zac Kara will hold a free live cooking demo at 1pm Saturday, February 27, at the Williams-Sonoma at Millenia Mall.

Fulton's Crab House at Disney Springs - Surf n Turf

Fulton’s Crab House at Disney Springs is celebrating National Surf ‘n Turf Day on February 29 (which also happens to be Leap Day) with a special butter poached Maine lobster tail, lobster mousse, 28 day bone-in dry aged N.Y. Strip Steak and roasted Cipollini onions for $70. Reservations are required.

Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs will host a five-course beer dinner on March 3 featuring Crooked Can Brewery pairings. Cost is $85 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 407-939-MOTO.

Speaking of Morimoto Asia, the restaurant has announced the appointment of Chef Yuhi Fujinaga as Executive Chef. Previously, Chef Yuhi was Executive Chef at Patina Restaurant Group’s New York City-based, Sea Grill.

There will be an open call for home cooks to audition for Gordon Ramsey’s MasterChef Season 8 when it comes to Orlando on April 16, 2016. Big River Grille at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort will be tapping their Irish Red Ale on Thursday, March 3 from 5-7pm. This Irish Red is a slightly dry, yet sweet, malt forward ale with lightly-hopped tea-like flavors, medium body and refreshingly satisfying.
