Orlando Dining Round-Up January 29, 2016: Fulton’s Crab House, Oblivion Taproom, Wahlburgers

Fulton's Crab House - New Orleans BBQ Shrimp

Fulton’s Crab House at Disney Springs is now offering a Sunday Brunch. The seafood-centric restaurant’s brunch menu items include Crab and Asparagus Benedict ($22) with Lake Meadow Farms eggs, jumbo lump crab, asparagus, grilled Neuske bacon slab served on toasted challah and topped with lobster infused hollandaise, and the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp ($20) with a crispy 5-minute egg, buttermilk biscuits and a spicy black pepper butter sauce.

Brunch classics such as Corned Beef Hash ($16) and Monte Cristo Sandwich ($16) make the menu, in addition to a Kobe Breakfast Burger ($19) with a fried egg, hash browns, cheddar cheese and sweet onion jam. Diners have the option to order off of the main lunch menu, as well.

A selection of brunch beverages are also available including the refreshing Acai Sparkler ($13 feat Veev, pomegranate and Juve y Camps Cava), as well as the ultimate indulgence with The Bloody Mary which comes complete with king crab, jumbo shrimp and candied Neuske bacon ($20).

Brunch runs from 11:30am to 3pm, and reservations can be made by calling 407.934.2628.

We’re sad to report this will be the last weekend for the Oblivion Taproom in Orlando. According to their website, they will close their doors for good January 31, 2016.

According to Oblivion’s Facebook page, they are not renovation or opening a new concept, nor will Oblivion be opening elsewhere in town. This is truly a complete goodbye for the popular venu. No other information has been given.

Wahlburgers Orlando will open to the public on February 9, with the VIP Grand Opening Party set for February 18. At least one Wahlburger in attendance – Paul. Mark and Donnie are still unconfirmed, but expect the party to be taped for the A&E reality series.

The restaurant is located at 200 S. Orange Ave, in the Suntrust Building in downtown Orlando.

Also opening in downtown Orlando is Ferg’s Depot tonight, Jan 29. Food & drink specials starting at 5pm, with Mayor Buddy Dyer cutting the ribbon at 6pm.

Capa Steakhouse at Four Seasons Orlando will offer a special “From Matsusaka With Love” menu from February 10-15. Priced at $250 per couple, it will feature a trio of 3-ounce cuts of Matsusaka wagyu beef (ribeye, strip loin, tenderloin). Ask for the menu when ordering.

Also at Four Seasons Orlando, Ravello will host a five-course dinner with wine pairings from Markham Vineyards on February 4. Cost is $175 per person (including tax/gratuity. Call 407-313-6161 for reservations.

All Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt locations are giving away a FREE 6oz. froyo on National Frozen Yogurt Day on February 1, from 4pm to 7pm. Remember the toppings add to the weight.

World of Coca-Cola is coming to Disney Springs, and it will be located next to Planet Hollywood and the parking garage. No word on how similar it will be to the Atlanta headquarters version, but expect a small history of the drink, samples to try, and a huge amount of Coca-Cola branded souveniers.

Black Rooster Taqueria is hoping to open mid-February in Orlando at 1323 S. Mills Ave. The menu features a variety of tacos (fish, achiote pork, chicken tinga, carne asada, vegetarian, and Black Rooster asada), as weel as sopes (corn masa cakes with toppings), ceviches, house made salsas, and more. In the meantime, you can drool over the food photos on their Instagram.

The Alfond Inn hosts the 2nd Annual Five Chefs, Five Courses, Five Charities Event on March 13. The five chefs are: Fabrizio Schenardi of Four Seasons Resort; Henry Salgado of The Spanish River Grill; Kathleen Blake of The Rusty Spoon; Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant; and Marc Kusche of The Alfond Inn. Tickets are $159.24 per person (including tax/service fees) and can be purchased via the event’s Eventbrite page.
