Orlando Dining News Round-up for October 16, 2015: Saint Anejo, Lafayette’s Orlando, Bistro Le Coq au Vin and More

In this week’s dining news round-up, we bring some tasty news about a new Mexican restaurant, new happy hours and lunch/brunch offerings, other new openings, and more…

Saint Anejo Mexican Kitchen + Tequileria
Saint Anejo Mexican Kitchen + Tequileria has set November 9 as their soft opening date at their Winter Springs location (5248 Red Bug Lake Rd). The Mercado style demo kitchen will offer a 360 degree view of fresh food being prepared right in front of your eyes.

The food is traditional Mexican, drawing from all the regions of Mexico like street corn from Guanajuato to 24 hour slow roasted XX Equis Carnitas from Michoacán and Habanero Spiked Short Rib from Mexico City.

Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs is now open for lunch, starting at 11am daily. The lunch menu is similar to the dinner menu, but there is also a Morimoto “Lunch Set” option. For $26 you get miso soup, house salad, a choice of california roll with white or brown rice, a choice of four entrees, and dimpling and kimchi. Better come hungry.

The Smiling Bison is now offering a Happy Hour Tuesdays through Friday from 5pm to 6pm. In that one hour span of time, you can get $5 poutine, select draft beer and house wine. You can also get $1 off bar snacks. It should be noted the eatery opens at 5pm, so don’t think you can slide in early for the Happy Hour deals.

Bistro Le Coq au Vin

Bistro Le Coq au Vin is the new restaurant in Dr Phillips by Reimund Pitz, the co-owner of Orlando’s famous French restaurant, Le Coq au Vin. It is located at 7600 Dr Phillips Blvd, in the former location of Bistro Cloclo. The menu will have some Le Coq au Vin classics like Baked Brie en Croute, as well as sandwiches and burgers. Price point will be about $12-$15 per entree.

Lafayette’s Orlando at Pointe Orlando is now offering a Sunday brunch menu from 11am to 3pm. Enjoy some special items like the California Benedict and Banana Bread French Toast, along with regular menu items, and don’t forget the $5 Bloody Marys and mimosas. They’re also pet friendly on the outdoor patio.

They also have a new Hospitality Night on Thursdays from 9pm to 1am. Enjoy $2-$4 drink specials and $5 munchies, along with live music and games. Must show work ID to get the deals.

4 Rivers Smokehouse may have just opened a new downtown Orlando location, but they already have their eyes on a new Central Florida location. Plans are already in motion to open their 12th location in Kissimmee as part of the new development at the intersection of Osceola Parkway and Orange Blossom Trail. They’re looking for a June 2016 opening for this one.

Frank & Stein’s in Winter Park has closed after only a year. The downtown location is still open, and it’s possible the owners have found a new spot in Winter Park to relocate, but nothing definite as of yet.

Jack’s Steakhouse in Baldwin Park announced it will rebrand as Provisions & Buzz Co., with not only a renovated restaurant, but a new menu from new chef Josh Spisak. The grand opening is set for November 5 at 4868 New Broad St in Orlando.
