The Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes to Host Fun and Dine Foodie Weekend July 31-August 2

If you love to eat, The Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes has a Fun and Dine Weekend planned for July 31 through August 2.

Highball & Harvest at Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes

It starts on Friday, July 31, with a resort Pub Crawl. This guided tour will visit various restaurants, where guests will enjoy a specialty beverage paired with a signature food item. This is the planned itinerary, which includes seven stops:

  • Fairways Pub:  Beer Battered Grouper and Choice of house wine or draft beer
  • Citron, An America Brasserie: Crab Cake and Grande Orange cocktail
  • Primo, by Melissa Kelly: Ricotta Cavatelli & Italian Sausage and Red wine: Valenti “Norma”, Etna Rosso, Sicily, Italy
  • Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen: Kale Pesto Flatbread and Surplus honey citrus ale
  • Surprise Stop
  • The Ritz-Carlton Lobby Lounge: Cubano Bites and Choice of cocktail or beer
  • Highball & Harvest: Shrimp & Grits and Choice of beer or cask wine plus a Dessert Reception

Cost is $125 per person (plus tax/gratuity), and reservations are required by calling 407-393-4648. The event runs from 6:30pm to 10pm, and menu items are subject to change.

Then on Saturday, August 1, foodies can take a Southern BBQ Class at Highball & Harvest. From 9am to 3pm, the restaurant’s southern trained BBQ chefs will show you how to cook great, southern BBQ at home.

Beer Can Chicken, Cedar Plank Salmon, and mouth-watering ribs will be the focus of the morning. After lunch, learn how to make specialty cocktails that will pair nicely with BBQ.

The Fun and Dine Weekend closes with a White Apron Culinary Competition at Highball & Harvest on Sunday, August 2. From 10am to 2pm, attendees will be split into teams, each led by a Ritz-Carlton Chef.

Teams will then have 2 hours to create an appetizer, entree and dessert to share with the entire group and judges. Judges will vote based on presentation and flavor; prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
